I’m pleased to announce that UNC-Pembroke senior Marcus Sherman will be presenting his work on differential gene expression profiles at the 2014 Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS) in San Antonio. In his project, Marcus used network analysis tools to identify functional differences in the types of genes expressed early (1 hour) versus late (24 hours) after a stroke-like insult. This work was completed in collaboration with Dr. Ben Bahr as part of the NIH RISE summer research program at UNCP.
Marcus is presenting his poster entitled “Using Network Analysis to Investigate Differential Gene Expression in a Rat Hippocampus Model of Stroke-Type Brain Excitotoxicity” on 11/15/2014 at 9:45 AM.
Please stop by and say hello!
